A New Season of Preparation for Malawi

On April 25, our family stood on stage at the annual When the Saints banquet as hundreds of people gathered to pray over us. That evening marked the public introduction of our family as the missionaries who will relocate to Nkhotakota, Malawi, to establish a second long-term trauma counseling safe home.

For us, the evening was more than an announcement. It was a reminder that we are not making this journey alone. Friends, supporters, volunteers, and ministry partners surrounded us in prayer as we shared the vision God has placed before our family.

The banquet also marked an important milestone for When the Saints. Supporters came together to help fund a boarding facility for girls who complete the one-year trauma counseling program in Mponela. The facility will allow these girls to continue their education in a safe, Christ-centered environment rather than returning to economically vulnerable homes. Although the project was only partially funded that evening, continued giving in the weeks that followed has now fully funded the facility, and construction is underway.

As we look toward our own relocation in June 2027, we are entering a season of intentional preparation. We are building our ministry partner team, preparing for our November vision trip, learning more about the community we will soon call home, and making the practical preparations necessary for our move.

Lord willing, on September 1, 2027, the doors will open to a second safe home in Nkhotakota, where girls who have experienced abuse, trauma, or trafficking can find safety, healing, and the hope found in Christ.

We are grateful for everyone who is praying, encouraging, and walking alongside our family. Every prayer, conversation, and act of generosity helps move this vision one step closer to becoming reality.
