When the girls at When the Saints started learning to crochet, most of the yarn came from generous friends in the U.S. But this week, we took the next step—finding a yarn supplier right in Malawi.
Our newly found potential supplier was in Blantyre, 370 km away! We wondered how we’d get it from Blantyre to Mponela… until God provided a way (he’s good like that!!). One of the staff members mentioned her mom was traveling from Blantyre to Mponela and—just like that—our first batch of locally sourced yarn and hooks made the journey. We want to give a great big shout-out to Michael and Stella’s mom for making this happen. What a blessing they both were.
Marlene’s feedback? The bright, vivid colors are a hit! The thicker yarn is perfect for their projects, and the girls’ creativity is only growing. That means we found a supplier!
Every skein of yarn is more than thread—it’s a strand of hope, dignity, and a new future. And God keeps weaving this story together.
